Aclam are a Barcelona based company that, amongst other things, produce execptional pedals. Their products exhibit a level of research and care that goes above and beyond that of most other pedal compnies and their webiste https://www.aclamguitars.com/ is definitely worth a visit.

The DR Robert pedal is based on the normal channel of their ultra-rare VOx UL730 (S/N:3042) an amp that was used by the Beatles for their Revolver and Sgt. Pepper albums and also by the likes of the Rolling Stones, Led Zepplin and Joy Division.

In addition this, Aclam have added a ‘MACH SHAU!’ channel (the German phrase ‘put on a show’ that was famously shouted at the Beatles in their Hamburg days) which is a custom, FET based circuit, that emulates the saturation produced by the UL730’s EL84 tube power section and takes the player into glorius, fuzzy territories.

A pedal for the afficionados, here are a few words about it from those in the know:

Guitar World: ‘An obscure and largely forgotten amp gets rightly put back on the map in a versatile drive pedal with visceral power and a raw grind that will find a role in many kinds of music.’

Premier Gear: ‘The tones within are so close to the Beatles tones I’ve been chasing for decades, and so unique in non-Beatles contexts.’

Guitar Player: ’A worth and interesting addition to anyone’s stompbox collection.’

Mick from That Pedal Show: ‘Really, really, really, really, really, really good’
